WOD:

400m Run
21 Kettle Bell Swings (44#)
12 Pull Ups
3 Rounds

Time: 17:13

I added 13 seconds onto my previous time. This kind of annoyed me as I did the pull ups with the green band. Last time I did the pull ups without a band at first and then with the thinnest band. I am not sure which part let me down the most. I think it was the breaks when I was doing the kettle bell swings. In retrospect I think I could have done all the swings at once. The pull ups at the end killed me. My last set of pull ups were sets of 2, it really sucked. My running was bad, once again. The first run was good, the second run was ok, and the third run was bad. I stopped so many times in the last run. I wish the run was the last part of the WOD, I think I would go faster then. I tried to run as fast as I could for a 400, but it was not working out. I was freaking tired as hell after this WOD.

This is just sick, a Sub 7 Helen:

OPT is just a machine.

Helen is the worst work out, I even prefer Fran to this. It’s so easy to say to your self to push hard till the end, but when it actually comes down to doing the work it is REALLY hard to tell yourself to stop taking breaks and get back to it. Jorgy did this WOD with a 2 pood Kettle Bell (70#), which is just ridiculous. Shilpa also struggled with this. The Kettle Bell swings are what got her. She was going to use a 18# KB, but then Mark told her to use a 26#. This was the right weight for her, but she struggled like hell. Mark actually wanted me to use the 1.5 pood KB (54#). I think I could have done it but it would have been a struggle. That is a little less than 25% increase in weight so it wouldn’t have been that bad. I remember the good old days when I used the 35# KB.

I am also recovering from a nice rip in my hand from the 100 Pull Ups/Sit Ups WOD last Friday. A little bit of tape and a grip on that hand and I was good to go. It still hurt a bit. I have only gone to the gym twice this week as I was recovering from the 1/2 Karen that kicked my ass.

Off to Dallas this weekend. Hopefully get a hard week next week.

Helen, that bitch once again.

WOD:

400m Run
21 Kettle Bell Swings (44#)
12 Pull Ups
3 Rounds

Time: 16:45

I did the first round of pull ups unassisted. Second round I did half the pull ups unassisted then used the shoe string band for the rest. The last set I used the shoe string band for all the pull ups. Here is what I get for doing unassisted pull ups:

Nice rips. Later that night I bandaged them up and went to sleep. Oh yeah, and showering with these tears was NOT fun! Stung like hell. The next day I cut off the skin and let nature do its thing. A few days later it was pretty dry and so I dremeled the dead skin and now I use a pumice stone. Also, I since developed a blood blister underneath the callous. And yes, I realize in retrospect that writing L and R on my hands was dumb. I know people can figure that out by looking at the pictures. So fuck off.

Helen, the bitch

WOD:

400m Run
21 Kettle Bell Swings 35#
12 Pull Ups
3 Rounds

Time: 15:39

I fucking hate this work out. Moving from the kettle bell swings to the pull ups SUCK. I scaled the pull ups with the black band, and the last 2 runs sucked. The kettle bell weight should have been 1.5 Pood (54#s), but that was scaled too. Words cannot explain how much this WOD sucks!

Recently OPT from Crossfit Calgary did Helen as Rx’d sub 7, which is a ridiculous time.
